BIG Price Drop on Entry-Level Equestrian Center

This perfect ‘starter farm’ is now available for just $325,000!

Entry level horse farm! It’s just about impossible to find a horse farm with a decently sized indoor riding ring in the Lehigh Valley for this price. Large stable which consists of 24 roomy box stalls with rubber mats, wash stall, insulated tack room, feed room, hayloft and 60 x 127 indoor riding ring complete with a heated viewing room. Indoor ring also has a hook-up for sound system. Footing in the indoor ring is rubber/sand mixture. Good use of mainly flat acreage with 8 paddocks and run-in shed with 4 more stalls. The Farmhouse has character and a nice layout. The kitchen has been updated in recent years and has a tile floor, lead glass windows and built-in pantry. Wood floors on the main level. Walk-up attic. Stone room in basement can serve as a wine cellar. 3/4 bathroom in basement – seller says shower works but unsure about toilet. Newer efficient furnace. New water pump installed in 2014. The 3rd bedroom can only be accessed from master bedroom. The water supply is a spring box & is located across road on what we believe to be tiny parcel K2 65 0516 of .04 acres (buyers should verify). This property needs some work (like diverting run-off water after heavy rains) and the price is reflective of this but you can live there while making the improvements.

Fair Hill Selected as Venue For 2018 Four Star Eventing Competition

Until recently, the Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event in Lexington, KY was the only 4* level eventing competition in the United States. But the United States Equestrian Federation announced this summer that Fair Hill International, an eventing venue in Elkton, MD, has been selected to become the site of the second 4* in the U.S.

Eventing enthusiasts in Eastern Pennsylvania and the surrounding area are thrilled that an eventing competition of the highest level will be held right in their own backyard in 2018! For Pennsylvania equestrians, it’s just about as good as having the Olympics just a short hour’s drive away.

Fair Hill was a natural choice for the United States’ second 4*: the venue already holds 2* and 3* competitions each fall, and its key location in the Mid-Atlantic region makes it easily accessible for competitors and spectators alike. Already a favorite destination for many eventing fans, Fair Hill is sure to draw quite a crowd for the 4* in 2018. There are also plans to significantly expand the courses and facilities to accommodate the needs of this top-level competition. We can’t wait to see how Fair Hill’s 4* continues to develop!

Thoroughbreds Will Take The Spotlight at Plantation Field

Cross Country at Burghley

Thoroughbred racehorses can excel in all sorts of second careers after they leave the track, but some would say they are most popular as mounts for the sport of eventing. The speed and bravery of the Thoroughbred make these horses the perfect choice for jumping cross country, and these equine athletes will get a chance to shine at this year’s Plantation Field International 3 Day Event.

This year, Plantation Field is partnering with the Retired Racehorse Project to put Thoroughbred horses in the spotlight and promote them as eventing prospects. Ex-racehorses available for adoption will be showcased during the event, and off-track Thoroughbreds who have made the successful switch to competitive event horses will also strut their stuff for spectators at Plantation. Some of the horses showcased will also be available for purchase at the Thoroughbred Makeover event being held just three weeks afterwards in Lexington, KY.

The event’s organizers hope that it will be a bridge between the Thoroughbred racing and eventing worlds, bringing together fans of two very different sports that both love and appreciate the same wonderful equine athletes.
